All measures in place for the second phase of Sri Lanka resettlement

Sri Lanka government today said that all arrangements are in place to begin the second step of its resettlement process in Mannar.
This second stage of the resettlement in Mannar is to begin on next Monday in selected areas of the District.
The Ministry of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services said they hope to resettle 2,100 persons from 520 families at their own villages in 11 divisions of Mannar District.
According to the Ministry, the demining process in those areas was completely finished and those areas are now habitable again.
The government has already provided electricity, water, other necessities, and dry rations for two weeks, the Ministry added.
Under the first step of this process the government recently resettled 122 families.
