Sri Lanka government implements new system to identify LTTE Tigers reaching Vavuniya

Feb 23, Colombo: Sri Lanka government with the assistance of the security forces has launched a special framework to identify the members of the LTTE who enter the government controlled areas by mingling with civilians from conflict zones.
Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister for Disaster Management and Human Rights said under this special system the government has identified nearly 250 LTTE cadres who had tried to enter the government controlled with the civilians.
The minister said the government hopes to rehabilitate these LTTE cadres at the rehabilitation centers in the North.
Minister Samarasinghe hopes that more LTTE Tigers unable to face heavy attacks by the government forces will reach the government controlled areas.
