* LTTE supporters attack Sri Lankan Embassy in Netherlands

May 12, Colombo: Suspected LTTE supporters yesterday have attacked the Sri Lankan Embassy in Hague, Netherlands, the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry said today.

It also said that the attackers had broken some window panes and caused damage to the Embassy. However, the attackers attempts to break into the Embassy premises had failed.

Soon after the incident, the Dutch police had arrived at the scene and initiated inquiry into the incident.

The Sri Lanka Embassy condemning the attack had requested the Dutch Government to tighten the security of the Mission and ensure the safety of the staff and also launch an immediate inquiry into the incident.

Few weeks back, Sri Lankan Embassy in Norway too came under attack by the LTTE supporters. LTTE supporters in London have attacked the Indian Embassy also and beheaded a statue of Indian Prime Minister Nehru.
